Returns, RMA & Warranty Policy
How business returns, RMA approvals, non-returnable items, faulty products and warranty support are handled.
1. B2B returns
DTI Tech is primarily a business-to-business reseller. Business purchases are not automatically cancellable once accepted, especially where products are special order, direct-shipped, licence-based, subscription-based, configured, opened, activated or sourced specifically for the Customer.
Returns are subject to approval by DTI Tech and, where applicable, by the relevant distributor, vendor or manufacturer.
2. No unauthorised returns
You must not return any item without prior written authorisation from DTI Tech.
Where required, you must obtain a valid RMA number before returning goods.
Goods returned without authorisation, without an RMA number, to the wrong address, outside the required timescale or in unsuitable packaging may be refused, rejected or returned to you at your cost.
Supplier RMA windows can be short. Products must be returned within the authorised RMA period and in line with the instructions provided.
3. Customer error returns
Returns due to Customer error, including incorrect product selection, duplicate ordering, changed requirements or compatibility mistakes, are not guaranteed.
Where a Customer error return is accepted, the product must usually be:
- unopened
- unused
- current
- complete
- in original packaging
- in resaleable condition
- returned within the approved RMA period
A restocking fee, handling fee, inspection fee, courier charge or cancellation fee may apply.
4. Non-returnable items
Unless faulty or otherwise required by law, the following are usually non-returnable:
- opened software
- activated licences
- cloud subscriptions
- digital products
- special order products
- configured or customised products
- made-to-order products
- products not in resaleable condition
- products missing packaging, accessories, serial numbers or manuals
- consumables once opened
- products restricted by vendor or distributor return rules
5. Faulty products and DOA
Faulty or dead-on-arrival products are normally handled under the applicable manufacturer, vendor or distributor process.
Depending on the product and vendor policy, you may be required to deal directly with the manufacturer for warranty support.
Where a warranty claim is notified, the relevant supply-chain partner may either advise that the manufacturer deals directly with the customer or issue an RMA number for return through the authorised channel.
6. Return condition
Returned products must be securely packaged and returned in accordance with the relevant distributor, vendor, courier or manufacturer instructions.
You are responsible for ensuring products are protected during return transit unless we or the distributor arrange collection.
Credit may be refused or reduced if the product is incomplete, damaged, marked, opened, used, missing accessories or not returned in accordance with the RMA instructions.
7. Warranty
Product warranties are provided by the relevant manufacturer, vendor or distributor.
DTI Tech does not provide an additional hardware warranty unless expressly stated in writing.
We will use reasonable efforts to assist with warranty queries, but warranty decisions, repair, replacement, credit or refund may depend on the applicable third-party warranty process.
8. Hardware not handled by DTI Tech
As a channel reseller, DTI Tech does not normally touch, inspect, repair or test the hardware supplied.
Where diagnostic, staging, configuration or support services are required, these must be purchased separately or agreed in writing.
